The new Preschool Lion King series. Surprised you haven't heard about it, especially with all the slash art there is now for Kiara's two female lion friends (I'm surprised and not surprised at the same time...)

Basically Scar was the head of the Lion Guard, this lion...uh, Avengers slash magical protection force for the Pride lands (yeah, makes no sense) Kion, the younger brother of Kiara, is now head of the lion guard with his friends. Timon and Pumba's adopted "nephew" (he calls them both uncle) a female Cheetah, a honey badger, a hippo, and a bird. He has a cutiemark lion paw thing on his leg that gives him a magic roar or whatever. Kiara is in it, too, but as a cub. There's a ton of characters in it that make no sense if this is in the same timeline as LK2.

That actually sounds like it could be kind of an interesting worldbuilding fic idea...thing...but this is an actual movie?

...wait, is this a canon thing??

(As for me never having heard of it: I'm really not involved in fandom at all besides this comm, so unless I have an interest in common with people IRL, I tend not to hear about things)

It's a movie that sets up the show. It's for preschoolers, so keep that in mind.
