Well, then turn off a bunch of people! You can't and shouldn't please everyone. The world is incredibly boring when you try to! When sci-fi try to be popular among people who don't really like sci-fi, then the only way to do that is for it to not be sci-fi!

I agree. If you try to please everyone, you'll just make safe, easily digestible media that offers little challenge to anyone who views it. Unfortunately, big movies today are made by people who are looking to make money first and foremost, not good movies.
