Yeah, but it makes it easier to say "Oh, that person's homophobic." There's a lot of knee-jerk reactions these days on what is considered PC, so I like to have solid evidence before I go believing accusations.

Debating whether someone is homophobic or not is not a PC issue. As someone who has followed Vic's exploits (first as a fan, and now as... well, not a fan) and as a gay person, I can say that his attitude does reek of low-key homophobia. It doesn't need to be blatant to make someone feel bad.

The fact that he only considers ZOMG YAOI PAIRINGS to be ruining the original and not, say, Hughes/Winry (and hey, FMA fandom has about any pairing imaginable) really shows you he's a homophobe.

And his whole "People're ALLOWED to like it!1 BUT it clearly sucks and it's awful and destroying the original." shows he's an asshole. Wtf no one needs his permission or condescendant little crap.

I'm a bit more pissed off at his attitude towards the whole KuroFai/CLAMP thing because he acts like he knows the material better than the fans who actually read the damn manga just because he heard from a friend at Anime Expo in '06 that CLAMP said Kurogane and Fai weren't a couple. =|

Oh god, and let's face it, FMA has plenty of batshit insane het as well. It has plenty of OOC gen. And he just says '2 men being together makes me annoyed so if you do it then you is BADZ and I is no liking you. D<'

And I never got the idea fic can 'worsen' the original! I mean, it doesn't directly affect it! It doesn't have MIND POWERZ that TELEPATHICALLY control the animators to make them change scenes into happy gay love orgies or something!

Hmm. He seems to be more poking fun at yaoi fangirls than gay people, but I can see why some people would be offended.
Still, I expected to see videos of him stepping out on stage, unzipping his pants, and pissing on the audience, from all the hate I've seen for him. I'm a little disappointed. :(

Saying things like how yaoi, and therefore gay depictions of characters, is ruining the artistic integrity of a (already homoerotic) canon does strike me as something homophobic to say, whether his intentions were meant to be anti-yaoi or anti-gay or whatever.

I think reading between the lines- the fact he's saying that he 'doesn't get it' and I swear he muttered 'perverse' at some point... The utter focus on gay as opposed to general OOC badfic/art... It kind of reeks of 'well I hate gays but I can't SAY that so yaoi fangirls will just have to screen it for me.'

He puts this little "nice guy" disclaimer about how they're his opinionz!1 all the time and then he proceeds to insult the fans' hobbies of SHIPPING WHATEVER THE FUCK THEY WANT TO and to make homophobic statements.

As much as I hate the fucking prick and as much as he does suck at voice acting; he's not all THAT rude to his fans. I met him last year and he was pretty open and friendly and all that shit.

As I've heard, he also considers himself entitled to just about everything -- at a convention I attended, he interrupted a panel to announce that his was just about to start. Half the audience left. The other half stayed and complained.
