I think you're missing my point... I'm not specifically talking about Disney. I mean in general. I'm a fan of CG, but it IS making things hard for 2D animators. It's getting harder for us to get jobs. "Kid's" animation aside (i.e. Disney and Nickelodeon), animators are getting less and less work in commercial jobs. Small studios are closing all over the place because no one wants hand-drawn for advertising anymore.

I know about the mix of CG in Aladdin (and Beauty and the Beast, and Hercules, Treasure Planet, etc). Please don't talk down to me.

I'm sorry if I interpreted a legitimate complaint as a fannish vendetta. It won't happen again.

It happens :) My secret wasn't clear either.

It's rough when everyone get's all space-age abot it, like CG is the way of the future. But Disney's re-opened their hand-drawn division, and the method's still very popular with European feature animators, so it's possible we may be able to make a living yet. It'd be nice if the studios realized that there's inherent worth in both mediums, you know, like- you wouldn't jettison oil painting and replace them with acrylics because it's slightly cheaper, that's ridiculous.

Lol, no money, no sleep, no time. Animators united, what?

But it's not the studios with the money to make financial decisions :/ In the end, it's the investors, who pay the advertisers, who pay the studios. And if the investors don't want hand-drawn...
Even if the studio DOES have the power, they're more than likely not going do something that will jeopardize making money...like choosing a "less popular" medium >_>
