if you went bald?

- wear a wig or toupee?
- wear hats?
- shave it all?
- kill yourself?
- just let it be?

I'm a girl, so I don't have to worry about it. But there is really no baldness in my family, so I feel like maybe I should have been a guy so the no-baldness genes wouldn't be wasted.

Theoretically you could get cancer and need chemo and go bald. Just saying.

Uh... there is such a thing as female pattern baldness, and also losing your hair for medical reasons. Women aren't immune.

I'm a girl, and I've been bald. I wore wigs and sometimes shaved my head.

I'm not bald now; it all grew back. It's really curly though.

No one should kill themselves over loss of hair though; gosh.

Shave head, work out, become Mr. Clean.

Finally get a bleached white short wig.

Some women go bald too! Not even from illness!

Anyway, I'd shave it. But I'm pretty tempted to shave it anyway.

Spend all my money on bright, colorful, huge wigs.

I'd buy wigs, simply because I don't think I could pull off the bald look very well :p.

Maybe wear a soft beanie if my head got cold, but otherwise just be bald.

I go through stages of losing hair in patches sometimes so who knows. I've heard of people with similar issues to mine going completely bald. I guess if it happens it happens. I just hope my head isn't a really weird shape.

As someone who does have a type of alopecia, I say do whatever makes you feel awesome.

I've done wigs, shaving, amazing hats, killing myself, undercuts, and some of them all at the same time. Let it be, let it be, whispered words of wisdom, let it be, etc.

I am a vain motherfucker though, so whatever I do I make sure I look good to myself first. Things like wigs can be very expensive depending on the quality or quantity of pieces you end up with over time. In my experience, and speaking with fellow irl folk, generally you end up making peace with it. Women too.

Now I see my ugly fucking shiny scalp everyday. It's been like this since I was 25 and it fucking sucks. I have this stupid shit Donald Trump part. I look like an old woman and if I don't use the right products then my head is like a minefield. If I sweat, it burns. If I wash, it dries. If I put anything moisturizing in my hair, my hair looks thinner than usual. I hate it. All the so-called soothing shampoos don't work. Or non-shampoos. Or home-made remedies. You name it, I've tried it. Some work for a while, then quit. I eat nutritious things (or nutritious enough) and try to get in exercise, it doesn't matter. They say it could be stress related. But then I look at my ugly scalp and get stressed about that. If I could wear a hat everyday I would. But everyone knows I'm hideously bald so it wouldn't matter either way.

Seriously, don't think you can't suffer from baldness just because you're female. It may not be full-on alopecia, but it can and does show up as thinning in women. Treat your scalp well, and don't let people tell you that you need to rub poisonous shit into your skin.

I'd wear really bright scarves all the time. Comfy scarves. I think wigs must be itchy.

I kind of wear hats anyway, so I'd probably wear them more as a protection against sunburn. I'll probably keep the long hair and start to look like Dharma's dad.

I'd just shave it. I wear my hair super short anyways.

When my mother had cancer, she wore a wig.

Dad wears hats to keep the sun off his bald spot.

If I - also a girl - went permanently bald, I might consider getting tattoos where my hair used to be. Temporary baldness would probably involve wigs or scarves.

When I look at balding guys desperately trying to hide it with hats and combovers and such, I always think they would look better with a shaved head.

I just keep my hair short during the summer and wear a stocking cap a lot during the winter.

If I had money? Definitely implants. I don't care you can see it, it's better than nothing. Failing that, I'd probably incorporate colourful wigs into my personal style.

If I were a man and I were balding (before late midlife), I would get hair plugs. Actual good ones, like the celebs get. If I could afford it, that is. But I mean I would actually prioritize that shit, because I would haaaate going bald.

If there was just no way I could afford decent hair plugs, or if I went bald so quickly and so early that I would literally have to do my entire head with hair plugs by the time I was forty, then I would just shave whatever hair was left and be done with it.

Kill yourself? Really?

I'm female, I've gone bald in the past due to a medical condition. It was actually quite freeing. I quickly learned not to put so much of my self-worth in my appearance. Hair is hardly worth killing yourself over; I should know, I've tried that one, too.

In terms of "managing" it, I just let it run free, or wore scarves and hats. Having a buzzcut can look really cool.

Girls can get it. I was partially bold for a year due to alopecia. Beaten it hopefully, knock on wood.

It was depressing and upsetting but not kill yourself worthy.

I decided against wigs and took up beanies and scarves. I considered shaving the remainders off to eaven it out.

There are injections you can get every 4 weeks but it's pricey and not permanent.

I'd let it be for a while. If I wanted to do something for a special occassion sometime, I'd get a wig and probably in strong colours.

/Woman, currently rocking one entire side shaved and boob-lenght hair on the other side.

Tattoo my head

I shaved my head for cosplay, and I'm a girl. I just wore a wig until it came back.
