I hate cheapskates. My dad is such a cheapskate. We went to 6 optical shops today because he needed new glasses but refused to not use his 10 year old frames and was angry that no one was willing to do that.

Is that a money thing or is he just terrible attached and/or afraid of change?

It is a bit of both. He doesn't like change, but he also hates to spend money. My mother has to buy clothes for him in secret because he'd rather wear holey clothes than spend money on new ones.
