I KNOW RIGHT. It feels like the magical pets in the HPverse are kind of semi-sentient (as in, perceive the world in a more human-like way than regular animals), and that's so awesome. I always kind of envied Harry because he had Hedwig. A pet that loves you as much as pets normally do AND can understand your feelings? Fucking awesome. Hedwig must've been a considerable comfort to him in that piece of shit household.

That's not to mention the part where she could find literally anyone in the world and deliver them a handwritten note.
