Well, that's also pretty dumb, but it's still at least possible to genuinely like clips or a soundtrack, even if you wouldn't like the play itself and therefore can't make a legit claim about whether the full play is good or not.

But to assume that 1) you know better than people who have actually seen it and 2) the people who like it (whether they like the actual play or the random clips they've seen) are just PRETENDING to like it is a whole other league of dumb.

PEDANTRY ALERT: due to the nature of Broadway theater (exclusive both in terms of cost and geography), lots of musical nerds have only listened to the cast album of certain musicals. Usually, this means that they miss out on the book (regular play) bits of the musical, but Hamilton is rapped and sung through, so they hear everything but one scene.

This! As someone who lives way far away from Broadway and doesn't have money to even see many tours, Hamilton is an incredibly complete soundtrack. Yeah I imagine I'm missing a lot of staging stuff, but comparing it to, idk, Wicked's cast album, you get a waaaaay more complete story from the Hamilton OBC than is normal. (It is 2.5 hours long after all.)
