I agree that ten minutes doesn't give the whole picture, but it's probably long enough to let a person know that a piece of art isn't something they's like. Which doesn't make it "rubbish," just not a thing OP would enjoy. I don't see the point of forcing yourself to watch an entire play or movie to confirm the hypothesis, but again--that's taste, not the quality of the work.

I confess I am very bored by the Hamilton-squee by (mostly) American friends on my Facebook feed, but I admit that's because I don't care for rap and am not very interested in that period of American history. I wouldn't say that means the musical is rubbish--just that it's not something I'm interested in checking out.
