Text: For some reason, reading one passage in this book where a male character gets aroused managed to help teenaged me understand and finally appreciate my own feelings of horniness.

What makes this even weirder is the fact that I'm a girl.

Bonus, completely unrelated secret: I've been posting a secret a week for a year, mostly as a challenge to myself. This is the last one. Thanks for all the lovely responses!

idk if you're straight, a girl getting aroused by descriptions of guys getting aroused sounds perfectly reasonable to me.

If you're not straight, getting aroused by descriptions of other people getting aroused still seems perfectly logical.

Actually, that sounds normal and healthy. I think it goes the other way, too, with young men reading about women.

it was probably easier to find a description of male arousal that was sympathetic. it was just the first account you happened to find.

I don't think it's so weird...I think, besides the physical reaction, arousal is not that fundamentally different.

IA. I think even parts of the physical reaction are essentially the same (heart rate increase, rapid breathing, basically the adrenaline rush...don't pupils dilate too?) - and in both cases blood is flowing to the genitals too.

I just wanted to commend you for your dedication in posting secrets all year. So many people complain about how the community is dead and there aren't enough secrets or the secrets don't appeal to them, but most of the complainers never do anything about it. You did, so kudos. :)

Signed,

A fellow secret maker

Aw, thank you! I've enjoyed the site for years, and I thought it might be fun to challenge myself like this. And as you said, it helps keep the site alive for others. Win-win.

Thanks for giving us so many secrets :D

Like the people above, I think it's normal. Lots of my processing what sex is came from reading mostly m/m smut. I'm a woman too.

I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I remember reading a book back in 8th or 9th grade that had a scene in it with a guy jerking off and finding it pretty hot. I still do nowadays too, ahaha.

Was it "The Chocolate War", by Robert Cormier? I was at an all girls school. I found it odd. Didn't care much for it and I only remember the main character walking in on a guy doing that. And someone getting their kicked.

That's a good book.
