why are you embarrassed to be taking English classes? tons of ELLs take them; they're very handy! I don't think anyone would judge you for it. Most people have had to take foreign language classes at some point in their educational career (or by "English classes" are you referring to classes where you aren't literally learning English? I don't really see why you would be embarrassed by that either)

huh, i assumed from the secret that it was english classes for high schoolers or something, because maybe OP had failed them earlier in life. i don't see why english as a foreign language would be embarassing.

As a teacher of ELLs, I would love to hunt down English lessons that have people I recognize in them, just to keep me from being bored out of my mind.
