All it is saying is "lower levels of consumption". Someone is just making the obvious connection with less people, less change in their individual lifestyle rather than overall reduction in living standards.

Having just finished an environmental masters course, I can report back that decreasing the human population of the planet is indeed the only way to deal with most of the issues we're facing. But especially ecological issues.

Obviously though, there's no humane way to do this so everyone kind of throws up their hands and moves on to finding other solutions.

Nature will eventually take care of it herself anyway. Fucking humanity.
