My boss's boss doesn't live in the area we work in, and she doesn't seem to get that there are economic factors in why the store isn't doing so well. The higher the cost of living gets, the more of our customer base moves out of town. But Newark is beating last year's sales by twelve thousand dollars so far this month, and if we're not like Newark, well, we must be screwing something up! Her latest idea is that the store always makes more sales when my boss is present, so now she has him on a hellish schedule to try to improve our numbers. I have no idea what will happen to the shop when he quits after Christmas, but I'm updating my resume just in case.
