Now I want to write a post-apocalyptic story where wrestling is the basis for some group or society. Like the Kings in Fallout New Vegas who base their gang on Elvis. They settle their disputes in the ring and everyone wonders why they like wearing little but underwear ("They're trunks."). Maybe they just worship one wrestler, like there is one group that worships the Rock and one who worships Stone Cold Steve Austin and the two groups feud because of this.

Mad Max: SilverDome! The Network still works now and then in this world, just scattered flashes and moments on a screen installed above the ring. People gather, hoping for a glimpse of their favorite, even if the sound is garbled.

They'd all dress in their post-apocalyptic takes on their favorite's gear (sometimes wildly wrong, sometimes just confused based on changes in the favorite over time, like the Austin gang, some of them shave their heads and other have long blond hair.). They'd yell catchphrases at each other: "It doesn't matter what you think!"

Austin 3:16 and Sheamus 5:15 would be taken to be references to actual holy books no one can find, but everyone guesses at.

A+++++++++ WOULD READ.

And roaring would be their hymn. Besides theme songs with new and improved religious lyrics: "Feed me more, amen!"
