No no, I'm not calling all the fic bad, I read a lot of non-slash that's amazing. The slash fic in particular hits a lot of my "this is awful" buttons because a lot of the things that seem common in the ones I've read would hurt. I'm sorry I sounded like my issue was with fic in general. :(
