"Two weird girls, and we're talking SERIOUSLY fruit loops here, are dragged from the midst of a Maury and pizza lunch into the world of Kingdom Hearts?"

If thinking that's crap makes me pretentious, I'll gladly be pretentious. There's some good writing there. But it's rare.

I don't think thinking that's crap makes you pretentious. I agree that it's not good writing, and because KH is such a huge fandom, it can take a while to find something you really like and are interested in reading.

What I find pretentious is the "bad writers = idiots" and the "some people just shouldn't be allowed to write" attitude. Some people suck at writing. This is true. But so what? If it brings them joy, who cares?

And I can't help but wonder how many of these people are just kids, around ten or so. I think back to when I was ten and cringe at the stuff I wrote. We all have to start from somewhere, and true, some people will never get the hang of writing. Does that make them idiots? No. I know some intelligent people who happen to be horrible writers.
