do people also tell you you're WRONG when you say your hair is brown? Seriously, this bugs me. It's fucking brown. Dark brown. Put me next to someone who actually HAS black hair, and you'll see that yeah, not remotely the same color. But a LOT of people have actually tried to convince me that I don't know the color of the stuff that grows out of my own head.

/sorry, got a bit rantish, there.

Yes! I know what color my hair is! And guess what--- in the sunlight you can see different shades of brown and copper/reddish hues...because it's brown! Not black!

That reminds me of a minor incident I had while looking for my mother in a shop. I'd asked if people had seen a blonde lady but one of the respondents was of the opinion that Mum was not blonde but "sandy".

I always thought "sandy" was simply a shade of blonde.
