but like, it was really easy to read your comment as rejecting the whole idea of 'USian' on the grounds that Canadians don't like it

maybe because that's what your comment was saying

Yeah, in retrospect I realize it did seem like I was saying something different from what I was trying to say. What I was trying to say was that Canadians do not think of ourselves as Americans and do not call ourselves Americans, nothing more. Sorry about any confusion.

Honestly, I think USian is a stupid term, but if other people want to use it they should be allowed to.

People from other countries can call themselves whatever they want, IDGAF.

But I don't want them calling me American.
