Reddit is hypercynical and the place where legitimate social justice goes to die.

I don't know about that. I've always thought the SJ subreddits are pretty sensible--I'm thinking of places like /r/ainbow and /r/asexuality. TwoX is pretty good for more mainstream feminist-type stuff, although it does get a lot of MRA trolls.

I prefer the more toned-down SJ available there, but there's rabid SJ subreddits if that's what you're into.

With Tumblr, just follow very selectively and block like it's going out of style.

I agree that there are sensible SJ subreddits to be found but, imo, TwoX has gone completely downhill since it became a default (which is a shame 'cause I used to love it there).
