You're not wrong, in that both of these are The Shouneniest of Shounens. I mean it's the same basic idea that, say, Naruto started off with.
I was quite fond of Boku no Hero Academia at first, but it didn't feel like it had anything very new or interesting to say, and the characters were very tropey, so I dropped it.
Ao no Exorcist stands out for having an absolutely FANTASTIC beginning - the first two episodes were so great. Then it took the fast train to Bullshitville. But still, those two episodes were awesome.
