I got the impression he left because he couldn't trust himself, what with the mess in Wakanda going down and him angsting for the rest of the film over how much of a 'monster' he felt he was. That scene to me where she pushes him felt like it was supposed to be 'cute' which I found damn weird tbh.

It may have been a combination of the two, but she certainly didn't help. I think that had she not done that, he may have stuck around for her. But she betrayed his (and Hulk's) trust.

Hm, I hadn't thought about it that way but even if she hadn't done that I'm not sure he'd have stuck about, I think him leaving was always a given.
