Fallout 4 question

(Anonymous) 2015-12-19 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
You fuckers be playing it I'm sure, so I have a question. Just finished Paladin Danse's mission and he want's me to Join the BoS. And infact I can't seemto progress with him unless I do. Can I ask, does joining the BoS mean I'm married to that faction? Do I lose any content if I do that? Miss any connections / companions / stories?

you aren't married to the faction if you join at that point. i don't think you miss out on any other faction content if you join at that point. I was a BoS Knight, Minuteman General and an agent for the Railroad and doing missions for them all at the same time. (In fact, Danse likes when you help settlers as a Minuteman.) you have to progress further in the main storyline before you have to make that big choice as to which faction you support, and at that point I think you start to miss out on other factions content. also, don't look up anything about Danse if you don't want to get spoiled for his story, fyi.

yeah, all of this pretty much, especially the bit about danse. incredibly easy to get spoilers for him.

Omg yes. I just wanted to look up one tiny thing about him, and his main spoiler was right there. People are still pretty quiet on the game's end (though I've seen those spoilers by now too), but, for him, it's no one even tried to keep it secret.

saaaame. I tried to look up at what point he was set to be an official companion and then boom....spoilers. the game's biggest twist was kept a pleasant surprise for me, at the very least.

I haven't played yet but fully intend to make Hancock my ghoul husband, and the BoS stance on ghouls and other non-humans makes them a big nope for me. The wiki says over half the permanent companions disapprove of you joining them. I really like it that companions will warn you when they don't like what you're doing and then straight up leave if you don't change course, instead of just mindlessly following you forever and having no real opinions about anything, like in Skyrim. The dog is the only completely neutral one.

Hancock is a great husband. I'm partial to MacCready as well. (My goal is romance every romanceable companion and they are my two favorite husbands out of all my spouses.)

It's always good to hear of his general awesomeness! I'm very monogamous and you-and-me-against-the-world with games like this, but it's great that you can handle the romance however you want. Open world games should have all the relationship options.

I wish I were more monogamous because I do like you-and-me-against-the-world quite a bit... for any one but me. I like Hancock because he lets you take drugs without getting uppity, and I gotta have my Med-X and psycho.

LOL at anyone being mad about drugs when there are giant mutated insects and reptiles and who knows what all running around. I don't even drink irl, but man, I'd do all the drugs if I woke up to that world. Kickass sweetie ghoul understands. :3

Not to put down everyone else's answers here, but just to provide a useful link: the Fallout Wiki is actually kind of essential. I refer to it a lot while playing any of the new-gen games.
