Sometimes I think I might be the only Saitama/Genos shipper who likes both of them equally.

Count me in there too. In fact, I think I enjoy Saitama a little more. He's such a fun character, and while Genos is super cute with his puppy-dog devotion to Saitama, and I actually have a huge cyborg/android/robot fetish going on, he's a character archetype I've seen plenty of times before.

And honestly, the fact that so many fanartists like to draw Saitama still having hair makes me think that maybe it's because of some weird aversion to bald dudes.

Can I crawl into your lap and stay there? Seriously this disappointed me so goddamn much, and it's a huge bad habit that both the Japanese and the Western fandom have pretty equally. I was on Toranoana because I had $100 to blow and instead of hookers and blow I decided to spend it on doujinshi, and the One Punch Man section had so many goddamn doujinshi where he magically gets his hair back. I felt an immediate aversion, like it crawled up my spine in an overwhelming surge of "what is this shit?"

To be honest? It's kind of disrespectful to the nature of the pairing in my opinion. Genos adores Saitama for how he is, not what Saitama was before.

YESSSSSSS. This, so much. Plus, the lack of hair gives him quite a distinctive look! I find him much more visually interesting without hair. How many bald superhero characters are there, anyway? Off the top of my head, I can only think of two, one of whom I almost hesitate to call a "hero" because of his sheer jackassery. *coughcoughCHARLESXAVIERcough*

So yeah, Saitama's baldness is part of what makes him great.

EXACTLY. To be honest, with his hair he's just another generic looking hero, even if the worldbuilding in One Punch Man is fantastic anyway. His bald hair gives him a distinguished look, and you immediately recognize him. With the black hair he just looks like any other character.

I think he's much cuter bald too, personally. I'm more attracted to him that way. I like to think Genos is too. Bald men on the side of good are a rare thing. I can think of a million mook type characters that use bald-heads as a shorthand for "this person is in a gang/bad/etc". Wtf, One Punch Man even makes fun of that trope itself! (Poor Saitama. :P) Seeing a bald guy being not only the hero, but the protagonist of the entire series?

It's really refreshing, and I hate how much of the fandom is cool with taking away Saitama's most distinguishing feature because apparently men can't be hot unless they're not bald.

rarity threefer: Moondragon is a bald hero, female, and gay. God bless 1970s Marvel.
