If the comparison is based on the rapes Kilgrave not only raped Jessica, but Hope too (and that's just a drop in the bucket of what he did to both of them) and we got to see in all its glory the damage he did not just to Jessica, but to Hope too (and countless others). It's kind of hard to ignore that when that's kind of the point of the show. But I don't get this assumption that the people who like Regina and dislike Kilgrave must be the same or mostly the same people. Is that even a fact?
