I haven't followed it that closely, but it seems like an interesting way of reclaiming American history by finding the threads that are inspirational and identifiable to people today.

American is on the verge of being a non-white-majority country, but our official identity is based on the work of a bunch of white dudes hundreds of years ago. Instead of discarding that as being irrelevant, why not recast it as something relevant?
