There's creepy, and then there's creepy. This falls on the benign side of creepy.

You could still drive by the person's old address just to see where they used to live?

(Anonymous) 2015-12-20 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
It's not creepy at all. Breaking and entering into the house is creepy!

(Anonymous) 2015-12-19 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Lucky him for moving to a gated community in time.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-19 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
In time to... what? Avoid having somebody drive past his house? Holy shit, there are people driving past my house RIGHT NOW, somebody call the police!

(Anonymous) 2015-12-19 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I've thought of doing the same thing, and the celebrity lives hear where people often run/walk for exercise.

I'm also totally harmless. I've met other celebrities I love that much and could barely get a word out around them, haha.

Well, there are far creepier things you could be considering. This isn't something I get, but it isn't exactly awful or terribly unsettling either.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-19 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sure he appreciates it though.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-19 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Not gonna lie, if I knew where my crushes lived I'd do the same. Major eyerolls to everyone who thinks that just driving past someone's house is a crime.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-19 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Even though that's pretty benign, you're probably better off with the temptation gone.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-19 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I know my crush's address and would absolutely drive past his house if I had the means to travel. I'm super-shy, though, so I'm pretty content just driving past using Google Earth.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-19 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
It'd be a let down, though, OP: you wouldn't see anything. And you would feel creepy and stalkery. It's one thing to approach a celebrity when they are at an event where they expect to be approached, and it's an entirely different thing to slow down while driving by their home and stare into their windows trying to get a glimpse. That's crossing the privacy line.

What would you even accomplish by driving by his house though...? chances are he'll be like, in the bathroom and you won't even see him, or you might think it's his house and it's actually his neighbors.

Might as well just stay home and stock pictures of him on your computer.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-19 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
While what you wanted to do is benign, he may have moved just to make it harder for people to get to him. If you could find his house chances are you aren't the only one, you feel?

(Anonymous) 2015-12-19 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
All the people saying this is creepy--how does this differ from any Star Tour?

(Anonymous) 2015-12-20 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
Gee, I wonder why this celebrity made this move into a gated community which prevents you from driving by and looking at his house...

Maybe you should still do it - drive by the house he used to live in

(Anonymous) 2015-12-20 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
Get it out of your system. I remember doing this in high school (though that was a non-celebrity crush). You will probably feel silly, but a little bit thrilled (and feel silly for that, too).

"Any ambitious alliterative author allegedly aiming at acquiring artistic accolade awards almost always achieves actual aureate acclamation, as analytical almanacs advantageously approve, and annual anthologies automatically accept auspicious applicants' accomplishments, avidly acknowledging all axiomatic ability, albeit advisedly, abrogating artificially abstract abbreviations affecting alternative attributes." - J.H. Malkin

Alan Alda should have said that.

I tried to do this to my crush once and got totally lost in the hills of Malibu. He's since moved... I felt like such an idiot but still kind of wish I'd at least been able to find the right street. I fail as a fan.

I once drove past Peter Jackson's house. I was on a tour bus though, so I hadn't exactly planned it, and I'm not sure if he lives there on a regular basis anymore, but still! :)

(Anonymous) 2015-12-21 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
I'm thankful I will never be in my celebrity crush's city. I also know his address and I'm not sure what I would do if the temptation was there.

(Talking to myself) You'd do nothing because you're a big chicken, that's what you'd do.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-23 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
I figured there'd be lots of comments about how "creepy" this is and f!s did not disappoint!

It's not creepy. It's totally natural to want to know more about the people who infatuate you--and to those asking "what do you get out of it?" and "what's the point?" the point is usually just that--to learn a new thing about a person you admire. Don't do anything but look and it's just a tad obsessive, but not "creepy" or "gross".
