Compared to the fandoms I'm in? To the general Tumblr culture? It's peaceful! Seriously, as much as I enjoy Tumblr's format - I never really got into LJ, though I tried - the nature of most of the communities nowadays just makes me feel like I walked into a different classroom? Whereas here, with my opinions, which I never found radical or backwards in any way, I can still feel 'normal'.

I see what you mean. F!S is far from free of drama or trolls, but it's about the most even-tempered community I have left. Which is a little sad.

I think the day to day nature of the community has a lot to do with it. We're still reactionary, but it rarely lasts for over a day. If drama happens, people get mad, get over it, and move on to a new post so the wanks gets left behind but the overall normal conversation keeps going.

Yea, that's one of the things I like about f!s. I know we have our fair share of drama, general unpleasantness and trolls, but there's plenty of rational people/discussion to balance those out.

Yes, I agree. I mean, there's still shitfights and garbage, but on the whole it's a relatively rational place for fandom discussion. Every time I make a secret, I know I can rely on at least a few well-thought out comments or pleasant acknowledgement, which is nice.

yeah, f!s is still the community I can agree with the most when it comes to politics and social issues.

my RL social group is barely beyond feminism 101, I'm always the most "radical" for bringing up anything else, even if they have good intentions. on the other hand tumblr is too unpractical left in my opinion, and other places are too conservative etc.

Honestly. Back in the lj days, I didn't really visited f!s except for the occasional drama that was linked my way. Nowadays I come here daily mostly to read secrets and comments and sometimes comment. Times have changed and all that.
