But if you're still too uncomfortable with the idea of something maybe getting back to that other person, you could always set up a new account to handle your Asuka creations. I know I have different accounts for a few different fandoms just so that certain bullies and rabblerousers won't bring drama from one fandom into other parts of my life :/

Do... what... to your mutual friends, exactly? You're not "doing anything" to your friends by declaring you're a fan of someone or something.

Don't take responsibility for the feelings or actions of an insecure idiot who's way too easily butthurt. Be yourself, like what you like, and as long as you're not deliberately throwing it in the acquaintance's face, you have nothing to feel bad about. (Hell, if she has a history of reacting horribly to something innocent, I suspect your mutual friends may become just "your" friends in the near future.)
