What's the meanest thing you've ever said to someone?

I called my Mom the c word during an argument once.

You called ypur mother a "conservative"? That is a horrible thing to call anyone? Just vile!

I said like father, like son, to a guy whose dad was supremely messed up. The son was also supremely messed up and being a particular shithead at the time, but it wasn't the kindest comparison to make.

Probably "I hate you for having me" to my mother.

"Your daddy drinks because you cry" is up there.

I pointed out to someone that their behavior was insensitive and mean and that they were alienating friends and family... just like their own mother.

To other people: probably "i hate you" or "go fuck yourself"

To myself: Probably the cruelest things I could imagine saying to any human being.

I really feel bad thinking about it.

Yeah, I've said far, far worse things to myself than I've said to other people.

I told one of my closest friends that I didn't really like her and was only pretending to be her friend because I felt sorry for her. It wasn't true, I was just really mad at her and wanted to hurt her.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-19 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
oh, are you my friend? Because I realised that when you said it but it also cemented my decision that I don't want to be friends with someone who will act like that.

This is why I cut you off.

Probably "I hope you die."

Which, in retrospect, is a stupid and useless thing to say to anyone mortal...

A great insult if you ever run into an immortal, though!

I don't think I've ever said anything super mean to another person because I'm more of the shut up and walk away type, but I've said some very cruel things to myself. The most recent one was, "This is why nobody loves you and everyone would be better off if you just left."

Telling someone "I give up on you/I'm done with you".

Of course I tried to take it back after because I didn't really want to be done. But the damage is done at that point.

I told a teacher in grade 8, 'You are the worst, most useless teacher I have ever had. I would have learned more if I'd skipped all your classes and spent the year in the library!'

He was a twee, condescending SOB, though, so I don't regret it. Or the part where I said it in strident tones in front of the whole class.

Is it bad that I can't remember?

My mom acted like me telling her boyfriend I had zero respect for him was the meanest thing I had ever said, but I'm sure I must have said something meaner at some point, I just can't remember...

An act instead, when I was 13 we were canoeing in a survival camp type thing in a pretty fast stream and the girl on the back of my canoe fell off and instead of returning for her I just left her in the water to drown/for someone else to pick up, which apparently didn't happen for half a hour. I did it because I didn't want to stop and turn around because I was doing so well?

I can only speak from experience so... yes, but in both instances it was after I'd gotten to know them fairly well -- even intimately, I'd say. I distinctly recall the initial moments of attraction, when I was taken by a great smile or a dirty joke or the warmth of their body when we hugged.

There was a girl in the same class as me, and she was struggling just to get a passing grade. On the day of a big test, she got a winning Coca-Cola bottle cap and was sharing the news with her friends. I turned around and said, "Looks like you used up all your good luck for the day." I never had any beef with her, and I wasn't even trying to be mean, but I'm haunted by the possible effect my words had.

There were these 2 brothers who always made fun of me when I was younger. One year their dad died and that summer, when they began making fun of me, I responded with: "You're so annoying. People have to die just to get away from you." It felt right to say it at that time because I had 2 straight summers of non-stop teasing and insults from them, but I occasionally experience regret when I remember.

They tried to friend me on Facebook several years ago and I immediately blocked them without a second thought.

A petty argument when I was 11 where I brought up the fact that my cousins were adopted.

When I called my mom, aunt, and cousin out openly on Facebook for throwing me under buss when I was trying to find ways to make my life easier when it comes to taking my mom and brother to work every night, home every night, and basic shopping every weekend.

I was trying to make some compromises or rules regarding this, one of them being that she finely stops smoking because not long after her died, my mom ended up in the hospital for a week because her oxygen level was so dangerously low, the doctors were baffled she wasn't dead.

But anywho, I got mean. I'm still not going to my aunt's house for Christmas. And this shit happened in July/August.
