It has nothing to do with socially acceptable for me, it has to do with interest and ICness. If you're going to make Heavy Weapons Guy from TF2 into a cute little waif I'm not interested because that's no longer the same character, nothing to do with being PC.

Ah yes, because making a character fit into the conventionally attractive stereotype of the gender they're swapped into isn't bland at all. (Like the Ursula genderswap I saw that turned her into a skinny guy. Generally hot octopus guy, but not that special and outright bland as Ursula.)
