Re: Star Wars: The Force Awakens (vague spoilers, I guess?)
It was also unexpectedly funny and I ended up loving basically the entire cast. Everyone, even the characters who didn't have much screentime (like Poe and Phasma) I like, and want to see more of.
While I very much enjoyed seeing the main three from the original trilogy (and feel like they're partly why this film works so well for me), I enjoyed seeing the new characters just as much (probably more, if I'm being honest). Rey is everything I wanted (capable, assertive and powerful with a gooey center) and Finn is easily one of the more lovable characters in the SW universe for me (I just ADORE Finn. He has such a big heart, and has so many great lines). Both actors were phenomenal and did a great job with the material.
I ship those two like crazy too (they have such amazing chemistry and such a heartwarming relationship, no matter how you look at it), which I did expect, but I'm interested in seeing if they turn out to be a popular ship or not. (I sure hope so.) I have a feeling Finn/Poe will probably be pretty sizable too.
And BB-8 had one of the best scenes in the film. I seriously love that droid; they packed a lot of personality into it. (I am also, I admit, extremely fond of the design. That's a damn cute droid.)
As for Kylo Ren...he looked great in the trailer (and dat voice), but I was a bit worried he was going to be forgettable and disappointing. For me, he most certainly wasn't. I like how human and flawed he is. There were a few things he did that probably shouldn't have endeared him to me, but did. (Er, like that scene with the two storm-troopers in the hall.)
I just love this film and want to see it again immediately.

Snoke is almost certainly knee height, calling it now.

I'm not one who tends to OT3, but we'll see what happens! I can see the appeal of Finn/Poe as well, but I don't ship it yet. Things could change with the other films.

NGL, for quite a while I thought he was a giant. Then I realized that wasn't necessarily the case. I would not at all be surprised if he was short.

I would go as far as to say that Rey is more badass than most SW characters, but that might be my bias and the warm afterglow of seeing this neat film. And also Daisy Ridley being amazing.

Dude, did she. I was quite frankly kind of into it and really impressed when she just railed on him. Like, damn girl. I love it. (Sorry, Kylo. You had fantastic lips. ... I don't even think his lips were effected, but I just had to mention that. Dude has good lips.)

I think the worst part of that scene was Chewie. Seeing him flip out just crushed me.

Totes figured as much, but the bit of internal struggle we got was golden. I always like a bit of conflict and the acting in that scene was stellar.

That was a great scene. I was sad that Phasma didn't have more to do too, but she's supposedly back next film with a bigger role, so I have hope that she's going to be a big bad. And I admit, her armor is extremely shiny, and Gwendoline Christie has a beautiful voice, so her presence just made me happy.
SPEAK LUKE SPEAK
I kept waiting for it and it just didn't happen. lol. That last shot with Luke and Rey was so dynamic and gorgeous though. I'm almost pleased that we won't hear him until next time because I look forward to seeing everyone's guesses. It's a fun cliffhanger.
Poor Republic...
Not even sure what I'd rate it yet, but def a 8 or 9. Somewhere up there.

I loved Finn, but Rey was the star for me. I loved her so much.

Geez, I could so see that. At one point in the film I was like, "These two could have amazing hate sex; hope someone writes it."
I didn't come out shipping as much as you did, but it was a great movie for shipping all the same. (And I have no doubt the next film will be even better for shippers; lots more variety, probably.)
Not sure I ship Kylo with anyone, but sweet jesus I found him attractive.
And Rey. So attractive. Daisy is gorgeous.
And Finn...he's handsome as hell, and such a dork and a doll.
And Poe...did not know Poe's actor was that hot either. I lust after everyone, basically.
Rey should def be the 'face' of the new Star Wars films. I love both Finn and Rey, but I want Rey to have all the merchandise and advertising and fan love and success. I walked out of the film wanting to be her.
