Arrow and Flash fans

I want to start watching The Flash. Do I need to watch Arrow to understand it?

IMO, no. I don't watch Arrow, and do watch the Flash. Oliver and Felicity do show up now and then (and Barry was on Arrow too) but it didn't seem to me that you needed any special Arrow knowledge for context.

No, thank goodness. There are a few crossover episodes, and in the last season sometimes bad guys moved between cities, but it was clear throughout.

I stopped watching Arrow before The Flash came out, but didn't like the acting or the stories. I've stuck with The Flash, so far.

You don't. They do cross over, though.

And I'm going to against the grain here and say I like Arrow a lot better.
