I like Tumblr. I thought I didn't, but the setup has grown on me. And especially now with the added messaging, it is possible to have those meta discussions that were missing. I can't imagine going back to Livejournal now.

I like tumblr, just as an extremely different platform from LJ. I don't think there IS any going back to LJ now though; too many people have left and fandom has 'moved on'.

I prefer discussing stuff on f!s, but f!s is just one community and the majority of fandom is now on tumblr, so I hang there. *shrugs*

I've only used the messaging system a few times, though. I haven't updated my app in a while (because the reviews have been horrendous) so I don't have messaging on it yet (and I use the app the majority of the time), so even if I get messages it takes me a while to respond. It isn't a bad implementation on desktop, though. It's a nice option to have.

Yeah. As an 'old' fandomite, I love tumblr.

I've been using it regularly since March or so and I find myself on it a lot. What's your username?

DragonofMordor is my main blog. It is 90% Tolkien. JediComplanion is my new side blog that I use for Star Wars and Doctor Who stuff.

carrollstreetstation is me! :) It's more of a general blog, though -- mostly video games as well as a pretty hefty queue full of the weird crap people I follow post.

I was never too taken with LJs style...

I miss the reply options though. I don't want to send a private message, I want to reply to that blog without reblogging it but everyone can see it.

Me too. It is quite fun, if somewhat limited and trendy.

The over all layout, at least at the moment...with some major tweaks from New Xkit, is fine. It's the general atmosphere that gets to me. I follow people who seem cool and only post fandom stuff...then I get inundated with SJW posts. Every. Fucking. Time.

The fact that my black list is a mile long and still growing because I have to type in every combo of SJW thing in order for it TO catch it gets so damn annoying...

This is where I miss communities. Tumblr doesn't have that really. Sure, you can find submit blogs from time to time, but most people don't really do that much and just follow said blog and reblog the hell out of it.
