That's exactly the feel I got from him: someone who wants to be dominant and has convinced himself he is, but who is really submissive.

Well, considering his 'struggle with the light side' and the way he desperately wants to believe he's a big, evil bad guy with no heart, I can see why a dynamic like that would appeal to you because it feels weirdly familiar. Kylo is a guy who is used to denial, lol.
