.... I think Mozart's music is entirely overrated, and I consider him the Rush of classical music: technically brilliant but soulless.

And I'm sure he had his moments, blah blah blah Don Giovanni blah blah blah, but no sir, I don't like him.

Hold up. Rush is soulless? What would having a soul even mean in this context? (They've certainly got a viewpoint, a message, and a drive to spread it.)

the most technical thing I have seen soul refer to is freedom. this is of course vastly inadequate.

I agree. I still like his work more than Beethoven's. Mozart is left in the dust by Vivaldi and Bach though.

lolwut? Mozart is soulless, but Vivaldi, who wrote one piece of music and spent the rest of his career rearranging it for every instrument in existence leaves him behind in the dust?
