I guess modern tv shows with all the extra long pacing and serialization. I just want them to get on with it. I only get an hour here or there, I don't want to have to commit to 10 hours of tv just to get one hour's worth of action.

BBC makes a lot of miniseries.

Still plenty of shows that are episodic rather than ones with long story arcs. It's just that serialized shows are hot right now, and to be fair, it's because a lot more effort is put into the writing for many of them.
