I guess make that two people secret!OP?

I've always had a thing for older, authoritative guys (oddly enough I'm a Neal-esque person myself, I don't want their attention because I want them to dominate me, I like playing. :D) Peter is definitely just that!

Neal's actor is gorgeous, there is no doubt about that, but Peter's actor is interesting looking in addition to being handsome, and that counts a hell of a lot for me.

To contribute to the thread, I have here this quote here from TV Guide in 2012, an interview called Hot Boys of Summer, about some of the guys on the shows in USA Network.

"Tell us one embarrassing thing about your costars."

Matt Bomer: Oh, man...if I say something lascivious to Tim, he gets giddy like a school kid. He loves it but is kind of embarrassed that he loves it.

If you ever see the two of them on interviews together, you can see they think the world of each other, feel safe together, and have wonderful chemistry. It's very sweet. I think Bomer would say he finds Tim very attractive, although I don't think he's actually interested in him romantically.

I think lots of people probably find his looks more attractive. Tastes vary, right? Personally I think Matt is one of the handsomest men around, but there's no rule about that; it's all taste. :D

Their dynamic in general is absolutely amazing.

I was always in fandom for Peter. Neal is pretty, but Peter/Tim DeKay just does it for me and has for a long time.

Yeah, I like looking at Neal but Peter...rrrrrrr. There's a little extra oomph there.

I don't think he's way more attractive, but I think he's just as attractive in a different way. Both actors are nice to look at; it all comes down to personal taste.

And I adored Peter. Near the point when I stopped watching I was actually totally still into Peter but Neal was making me want to tear my hair out.

Naw, Peter is much hotter. Neal is more the cute puppy sort.

You are not alone. Objectively I'd have to say Neal is probably more attractive, but there's something about Peter...I think it's the character's confidence, how he's comfortable in his own skin and knows his strengths and weaknesses. Neal is a con man so obviously confident as well, but it's more of an affectation. It's all fake and he never seems to know what he wants, or at least never for very long.

I'll admit when commercials for the show first appeared, I could tell I was going to ship the dynamic, but I did not find Tim DeKay attractive in the least. While watching the show, I found that that changed. (I stopped watching in season 3.)

So while I wouldn't say DeKay is more attractive than Matt Bomer, I do find him very attractive, and I don't think there's anything wrong with finding him more attractive than Bomer.

Good on ya, OP.

Peter looks like Pinocchio to me. Neal is attractive but not my type. I think he's more objectively attractive than Peter. Personality-wise, Peter is a user and isn't aware of how he looks down on the less fortunate, so I find his character more than a little repulsive. But I'm only on S1: maybe he improves.

On one of the Carnvale DVD set extras, there are clips of an interview with Tim DeKay, and I defy anyone to watch them and not come away with a crush on him. He seems like such an earnest, thoughtful, open-hearted, and chill guy, and he has a good face.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-23 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
Nah, I think Peter's more attractive. Neal's like flawless looking but it's like anyone who's too perfect looking doesn't work for me.

I've thought Tim DeKay's gorgeous since Carnivale and nothing has changed my opinion since.

Matt Bomer, to me, is blandly uninteresting; I don't even recognise him unless I see him on this specific show. I don't find him attractive at all and couldn't pick him out of a crowd.

However, I'm not actually in that fandom, so I probably don't count in regards to your secret.

Well, I've had a massive crush on Tim DeKay since Carnivale, so I agree with you, OP. I've only seen a few eps of White Collar though, but I remember Matt Bomer from Tru Calling (wow, that was ages ago). He's very, very pretty, but I always find rugged types more attractive.
