I don't see why people immediately jump to race being the single most important thing for others when they see comments like that. It can just as easily be an added bonus to good acting. Just because some people want to see more nonwhite actors doesn't automatically mean they don't care about good acting too. It's not an either/or thing.

I'm asking because the idea of Finn being white upsets you

Yes it does.

In another universe, if Finn had been cast as a white guy in the first place, I would have still liked his character upon seeing the film. I might have wished for more diverse casting if Rey had still been white, but he's a charming character and I would have liked him.

But that's not the case because Finn was cast as a black guy, and the idea of someone thinking a white guy should have been cast instead is yes, irritating to me.

Either way me not wanting a white guy in a movie is going to hurt exactly no one.

Yeah I know the new stance from SJWs is "Racism = prejudice + power!" as a way to distance themselves from it I prefer the definition of "prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior."
