I really don't know. It was, literally, insane. finger painting with shit levels of inexplicable crazy.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-23 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe. But barring an actual psychotic break, which is doubtful since you're sitting here typing this calmly, there's a reason, even if you can't see it because you're too close. I don't want to pry and obviously it's personal, but if you share the details, maybe people can help.

Psychotic break sounds plausible, actually. I snapped and bit him. He hit me. I don't know what made me so angry, I genuinely don't remember. Now he has his neck stitched up and everyone thinks he's a wife beater. I've probably fucked his life, I've definitely fucked mine and I just don't know why.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-23 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, honey. You think you've ruined his life only because you have no idea how many people have been arrested on bullshit DV charges. You are both going to be okay. But you need to go see a therapist or something and make sure that everything's all right with your mental health.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-23 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
Honestly this. And honestly people can get arrested on NOT bullshit DV charges and come out fine.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-23 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
ayrt - That's not a psychotic break. If you'd had a psychotic break, you wouldn't be sitting here feeling guilty, you'd be in the psych ward on a 72 hour hold (at least) and probably drugged up to your eyeballs.

What was the argument about? Is biting something you've done before? Was the argument getting physical before the biting, or did you jump on him? (Was he present a direct physical threat to you, is what I'm getting at.) Are you on any medications? Were you under an unusual amount of stress?

You haven't fucked up your life. Apologizing to your husband is a must, and therapy is a very good idea, particularly with a focus on anger management.

He hit you? No, you did not fuck his life up. He fucked his life up and he fucking deserves it. Do you have somewhere to go?

(Anonymous) 2015-12-23 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
Bullshit. She bit him to the point he needed stitches. On his neck. How could you not hit someone who did that to you, even if just reflexively?

(Anonymous) 2015-12-23 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
You really believe the "It was just a reflex" defence? You are what we call an apologist.

nayrt

(Anonymous) 2015-12-23 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
Will you two please shut up? Not helpful. It sounds like there's something to this situation that isn't about provoking/being provoked/deserving or not deserving being hit and this garbage isn't helping.

AYRT

And you are what we call an idiot. What the hell is someone supposed to do when their spouse decides they're a vampire?

(Anonymous) 2015-12-23 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
You're being a real jerk here, radfem anon.

If someone hits a person who is downright physically attacking them, I'm calling self-defense regardless of the genders involved.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-23 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
Men do not hit women
Ever
for any reason

Why did you bite him? Have you snapped like this on people before? You didn't have a psychotic break (those are much larger, trust me), but it sounds like you have anger or impulse control issues you need treatment for.
