(Anonymous) 2015-12-23 12:30 am (UTC)(link)Shipper who sales on Amazon/Ebay
-If you are buying something on Amazon and it says "Fulfilled by Amazon" this means that amazon bought the items in bulk from a smaller company. They then store those items in their fulfillment centers to ship out to customers. These are usually Prime Items. We have no control over these once they are shipped to Amazon.
-If you get an item that has a sticker OVER the barcode (for software sometimes the barcode and serial number), this does not mean it is stolen/counterfeit/or that we hate you and want to ruin your pretty box. It means that the object is a fulfillment item. When items are sent to fulfillment the small company will sticker them with a barcode label for sorting at Amazon. These numbers are usually (but not always) different from the original barcode. [Stickering an item with the wrong barcode can often explain why you were sent a wrong item]
-If you order something the week of Christmas from a small company (Ebay or NOT the fulfillment center), don't be surprised if it does not come by Christmas. You are not the only person ordering last minute.
-If it is not shipped within a business day, take a deep breath and do not call to cuss out employees. Again, during the holiday season, many companies get extremely busy. Our orders go from 200 or so a day to over 1000 on some days.
-If the wrong item is shipped or you get the wrong amount, we are not doing it because we hate you. When you ship a 1000 orders a day, mistakes happen.
Refunds
-Why do we need pictures of items sent? Sometimes people lie about getting an item wrong or damaged packaging. Sometimes people don't even realize THEY ordered the wrong item.
-Why do you have to wait for the us to receive the returned item before you get a refund ? Well, we have had someone return a sewing machine. We did not realize until several days later that they had switched the machine out with two jugs of water. We also had someone return an item containing everything (all packaging and whatnot) except the item.
-Why do we only give partial refunds on items you decide you don't need? Because we offer free shipping and returns. We need to recoup our losses somehow.
Okay...those are the most pertinent things I can think of. Sorry if I sound like I am whining, but customer service people do not deserve to be berated.
PS: Don't complain that the Christmas surprise you were going to do was ruined because they saw the box. If you ASK us to, we will usually wrap the box in brown paper, but we can't read your minds!
Medical Receptionist
(Anonymous) 2015-12-23 01:18 am (UTC)(link)You should always call your insurance to
A)verify if the provider you want to see is in network
B)if you require referrals to go see a specialist
C) see what exactly you're covered for (physicals, EKGs, etc.)
Please carry your insurance card and ID on you!
And please be patient, you're not the only patient a provider may see. It may take some time for them to get back to you. Rest assured, they'd probably contact you immediately if something was wrong.
*Important note to people in the USA, your insurance company might be changing in the new year. Again, contact them if you want to know if your provider is still in network. Your Doctor's office may not yet have a list of the insurances that will be accepting them.
Any other med. receptionists, please feel free to add!
