I hear you. I feel that pang of jealousy ever since my ex kept the dog when we split. I miss my pretty girl. (The one who shed all over everything and chased sticks but forgot to return them, not the one who lied about me, stole from me, and gave my books to Goodwill without permission because she decided I probably didn't want them any more.)

I hope you're able to find your dog. My dog going missing is pretty much my worst nightmare (though part of that may be because she doesn't have the sense God gave a goldfish), so I really feel for what you must be going through.

Just wanted to say that I'm so sorry for your loss, OP. My beloved kitty vanished a year and a half ago, and I still struggle with it a lot. It's been one of the hardest things I've ever been through, with the uncertainty and lack of closure making the mourning process very long, complicated, and difficult. It's hard for people to understand just how deep of an impact a missing pet can leave in your life. It's heartwrenching, truly. Can't tell you how many times I've sobbed and sobbed over her. My thoughts are with you.

I get mildly jealous of characters who have pet cats, because I currently can't have one. It's not as bad as you, my last cat was adopted out, quite healthy, but I miss having one around.
