Why does that guy have a black caterpillar crawling above his eye?

(Anonymous) 2015-12-24 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
ugly anons fetish is the uncanny valley, pass it on.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-24 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
Yes to older men with English accents and suits. Mmm.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-24 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
Awww I used to love The Nanny, it was so beautifully 90s.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-24 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
Fran Drescher is soooooooooo hot. I've never watched this show, but I'm almost tempted to just because of her hotness.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-24 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
Fran Drescher is one of those people who just seems to radiate kindness and happiness. The show is pretty cheesy and cliched (not necessarily saying that's a bad thing), but she elevates it just by being so damn likeable.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-24 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
Oh god what happened to her was so fucking horrible. Some people just need to be put down.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-24 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
...Because she had cancer that was misdiagnosed?

TW Rape

I'm so sorry to do this to you. Take a look halfway down the page.

That is horrible. I'm glad Drescher was able to find a way to cope with her ordeal.

Da

Holy carps! I had no idea that happened, how horrible.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-24 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
I love your secret OP.

I always like to say "MISTAH SHEFFIELD!" the way Fran did.

Your desires/goals/kinks are reasonable.

I loved this show growing up and won't lie, I thought Fran was pretty lucky at the time.

Fran herself was so charismatic though, that while I fully understand the appeal of him... She's just as much an incentive to watch the show. She's a hottie.

I'm from Germany and the Nanny was the first completely positive jewish character I encountered. Because of the Nazi genocide the word "jew" in itself is laden with negative connotations, either coming from negative stereotypes dating back to nazi propaganda or the usual anti-semitism before that, or from the jews having been the primary victims of the Nazis' atrocities, which makes the word "jew" or "jewish" always carry images of death and suffering. I had a jewish classmate once and I realized at some point that this must be what made his position difficult among the germans in our class, and I caught myself being somehow more tense and careful around him in an awkward way. The Nanny helped me overcome most of that, because she's such a happy, lively, positive yet a bit crazy example of jewish culture, and worked as a great counterweight to all the negative images. I think I'll be able to behave less awkward toward jewish people in the future, and it's thanks to Fran.

This makes me really happy.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-24 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
That is really interesting and rather sweet, nonny, thank you for sharing that. There are quite a lot of Jewish American comedians, for what it's worth. You might consider looking up more of their work:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Jewish_female_comedians - sadly only woman is listed, geez)

She looks really good in that pic! And different than usual. I think it's the hair?

Shane Donovan

Though I watched the Nanny and liked it, there's a little part of me that will always think of him as Agent Donovan, ISA.

Hellooooo, fellow Days watcher of yore! He will always be Shane to me, too. :)

ayrt

Hey, Shane forever. I liked him better than Patch, but liked Kayla better than Kim. Of course, then Jack and Jennifer became my jam.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-24 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
They both had great hair at that time.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-24 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
While I love this secret and this show, I must burst your bubble slightly. While Fran was always hiding her age on the show (and Fran Fine was probably supposed to be mid-thirties when Fran Drescher was a few years older than that, if my math is right) so we'll never quite know, but the actors only actually had a little more than a two years' age difference.

This secret makes me really happy, OP. <3
