Do you want to talk about media that specifically enters the POV of a sexual predator, or are we talking about all media that deals with sexualization of children? Because, I mean, I hear good things about The Color Purple.

I've bailed on a few intriguing-looking anime because suddenly there were sexy ten-year-olds being treated as normal, so I get how it would be frustrating to hit the same problem in JRPGs! But there's a big difference between "lots of these stories handle Situation X in a really sleazy, unnecessary way" and "anyone who writes Situation X, ever, is a terrible person. Unless they hit the nebulous threshold of Artistic Merit. And maybe not even then."

Also worth noting: some CSA survivors use fiction to help process their issues. Someone's trashy Supernatural shotacon AU might not be a work of staggering genius, but if there are readers who found it cathartic, that's valuable in its own right, surely.

...and given the wording of the secret, I'd guess the OP is thinking of the crowd that will cry "pedophilia!" on things like "teenagers having realistic sex with each other." Or who will argue that a story involving two adults is "pedophilia" if they have a large age gap, or if they're doing a consensual roleplay, or if it's aged-up fanfiction where either/both of them was a child in canon...there's been some serious harassment, both of actual shota/loli fans and of people who write/draw any of the above.

I can try to dig up links if you're curious -- a lot of this is happening on Tumblr, which is aggravatingly hard to search. It's out there and it's a mess, is the point.

I don't disagree with anything in your last post, and I myself was banned from TV Tropes in one of their frantic purges of suspected pedophiles. I'm just more sick of people trying to mainstream their fetishes than I am of people screaming about other people's fetishes.
