[Scott Weiland, Stone Temple Pilots]

I think that's how a lot of people felt? Like maybe not shocked, but it's still sad when someone passes.

I was a little surprised if only because I haven't followed his career in years and I thought with as long as he lived with his addiction, I was hoping he was doing better.

I get that. Even if the person is clearly heading down a deadly path, you still want to hope that they can somehow overcome it, and that makes it all the sadder when they don't. Plus, people dying is just sad in general, obviously.

Plus, considering there's people like Keith Richards who are still alive and kicking despite doing seemingly every drug imaginable, it's easy to wonder why someone like Weiland, or Amy Winehouse or whatever other celebrity you care to name who died due to this, couldn't have that same kind of freak luck.

Congrats, edgelord.

I do not think that word means what you think it means.

...So because he was an addict, you have to hide the fact that you're sad? I'm not understanding your "secret."

You must've missed all the trolls who were bashing on him for that very reason.

According to them, nobody is supposed to admire or respect an artist who has drug issues. Especially if the artist dies as a result of those issues.

That includes feeling sad about or thinking of the artist.

That's just lovely. I shouldn't be surprised, same thing happened when Philip Seymour Hoffman died :/

Exactly. Another drug addict who threw his life away for drugs.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-28 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Just another druggie dead from his addiction. Don't know why people mourn these pieces of shit.
