My mum's like that too, and I'm also not feminine in that way. I once spent an hour desperately staring at aisles of makeup in Boots and showing a picture of my mum to shop assistants to ask them to help me pick something out. It's always super satisfying when she likes the thing I bought though, so I end up not minding too much.
