This is why people don't like IP logging on here, cases exactly like this.

No. He's not. At all.

People are just whiny that their bullshit, shit stirring and "kill yourself" spam are being deleted, because they're entitled fucks who think they should be able to say whatever the hell they want without being punished.

Nayrt but uh, I didn't read this as "case is exactly like this" but "cases like this are the reason people don't like ip logging".

Case has never published any IPs he has access to. Ever.

Yet.

And he hasn't been hacked. Yet.

It is the "yet" part that is so very worrying about IP logging, not whether or not he is selling secrets to the North Koreans or whatever the strawman anon shrieks about. It is something that can be used to bully and humiliate people, drive them off the internet, and possibly drive people to suicide too. And all that stops that happening is the "yet". And lets face it, that is what the people who want it on are promising to do with the information. It is an implicit threat, a threat that is "say what we want you to say, never say something we don't like, or you can be dox because we have the information". That is why it is broken out as a silencing technique. That threat that the information can be released, but that it just has not yet. As long as IP logging is not on, there is no threat, as soon as it is logged then that threat is in play. And worse, it does not even have to be Case that signs off on it. All it takes is one clever and malicious enough anon (and we know we have those) to break into Case's account. Once logging is on, it is potentially available to everyone.

Yep.
