A cellphone would be the most disappointing I've recieved. I've also been given an electric blanket despite telling the giver repeatedly beforehand that I do not like electric blankets and find them disgusting.

The person who bought the cellphone. knew I wouldn't like it but felt I needed it anyway. In the case of the electric blanket I told the person that I would throw it away or give it away if they bought it. I don't know how that (or the "just the thought of one touching my skin makes me want to vomit") could translate to "secretly wants this".

My mother gave me a heating blanket two years ago for my birthday, but I specifically requested it. I like a nice heating blanket when it is freezing cold. To give you something you specifically say you don't want is just rude and inconsiderate. I can't even think of a reason why they'd do that.

Yeah, I know a lot of people really dig them. I passed it onto to someone I knew would enjoy it.

The giver in this case is just one of those people that goes "I like this/most people like this--so you will like this, even if you say how much you hate it over and over again, and beg me not to do it" types. Too self-absorbed to think about what other people actually want/need.

You are so bizarre and extreme in your dislikes. Are you sure you're not on spectrum somewhere?

What is your issue with heating blankets, anyway?

I don't like hot cloth on my skin under regular temperatures. If it was cold enough for that to feel pleasant, then the air in the room would be so cold I'd have difficulty breathing, in which case I wouldn't exactly be enjoying the hot cloth.

I'm not a fan because I find them creepy. What if it breaks and burns me to death?! D:
