For a few years, my birthday has coincided with one of my important electronics needing to be replaced, so my dad always replaced it for my birthday. The one year that didn't happen, I guess he ran out of ideas, because he bought me a cheap jewellery box. It was only relatively disappointing, though. I was still pleased because people normally forget my birthday (not anybody's fault, I just don't bother reminding anyone because I don't care), and it's nice to be reminded my dad always remembers me.
