Not surprising, considering a pet is one of the worst gifts ever to give to another human being (unless of course, you know for sure which type of pet they want and that they are prepared to take care of it, but I am sure this is rare when it comes to gifting). Animals are wonderful. They also deserve to be wanted and cared for, and not pushed onto some unsuspecting individual.
