Re: TFA: Ships?
Re: TFA: Ships?
(Anonymous) 2015-12-26 08:58 am (UTC)(link)Like, half the reason I kinda-ship them is because of that moment where he reaches for Luke's lightsaber but it rockets right past him and into her hand - it cuts back to his face and he looks shocked BUT ALSO like he pretty much instantly has the biggest boner he's ever had in his goddamn life. That fuckin' says something to me. In that fight, even before she Forces up she stabs him a few times, AND WE'VE SEEN (because the movie has shown us) that he's a big tantrum-throwing baby. Yet when he muscles her backward at the top of a cliff, he doesn't straight murder her like we feel like he would. Instead he blurts out that he wants to train her.
Bro. This guy sees a girl who might be stronger than him, and he wants to hone her raw talent so she gets even stronger. He WANTS her to beat him up. People can argue that he wanted to ~present her to his master as a jewel in the crown for the dark side, yeah, whatever. Like, he does, but that's only part of it. He really wants very much to be Vader, to be powerful and feared, so I'm sure he THINKS he wants to own her. What he really wants, what keeps him fascinated with her, is that he knows she could fucking own him.
Re: TFA: Ships?
He really is such a sub, at least in my mind. You see it even in his interactions with Snoke. They are different than between Vader and Palpatine. Kylo needs to be told what to do. He doesn't even completely like it, but he needs it. He's most in control of himself when he's following specific orders. It is when things go awry that he loses control. He so needs someone to rein him in.
Re: TFA: Ships?
(Anonymous) 2015-12-26 09:04 pm (UTC)(link)I mean, I'm a big sub. BUT I'M COMFORTABLE WITH IT and I enjoy it! Kylo seems to me like he's trying to fight it, trying to be a big dominating badass...but inside he's really not. He's mentally still kind of a teenager (cause in my opinion, going Dark Side keeps you immature) so I can see him bristling at receiving orders, while at the same time inwardly snapping to it, ready to obey.
Especially with Hux. I bet he's always sneering at him under the mask but whenever Hux talks shit to Ren right in his face, something in Kylo's stomach tightens up (which is the most interesting thing about Hux to me, how he's literally always doing that. He has ZERO fear of Kylo and that's interesting too).
